From January 19th to 21st, 2024, the student gaming community convened at The Stride Collegiate Combine, witnessing a gathering of over 300 students and representatives from over 50 prominent colleges. The event served as a platform for competitive showcases across popular titles like Rocket League, Fortnite, VALORANT, and Smash Bros, highlighting the talents of participants.

In addition to the show matches, colleges seized the opportunity to present their academic programs and scholarship offerings through panel discussions on Zoom. Students and parents gained insights into various educational pathways, empowering them to make informed decisions about their future and where gaming and esports fit in that pursuit.

Professional esports players, Jestise “MVD” Negron, and Eric “ESAM” Lew shared their career trajectories and insights during the industry panel sessions, offering valuable perspectives on the industry's landscape. Students had the opportunities to ask them all questions they had so that they could leave with newly found knowledge and motivation that esports and gaming are viable career paths.

As the event concluded, one standout student was awarded a scholarship so that if accepted, could pursue a college education by playing for their collegiate team.

The next Stride Collegiate Combine is scheduled for April 26-28 2024. More information will be available soon!
